Licensing / Hunting

Residents with written permission from the Police Department are allowed to hunt on Town owned property. Hunting is only allowed to hunt in the area of the reservoir on 276 High Street or the property of the Old Town Farm (outside the compost site) at the end of Town Farm Road.

There is no hunting at "parklands," including Boone Park. For hunting on State property, hunters should contact the Environmental Police for further information.

To Obtain Town Permission you need to bring to the Police Station at 15 Elm Street the following:

  1. Firearms Identification Card - (If hunting with firearms)
  2. Hunting and Sporting License

You will be issued a Town Permit for hunting on Town Property

Residents should use this form to apply for or renew a LTC or FID.

Firearm License Review Board Petition
Individuals otherwise disqualified from processing a FID or LTC because of certain misdemeanor conviction(s) may petition the FLRB for review.
