Solicitors are in town

Door to Door Solicitation in the Town of Ipswich is allowed as long as the solicitor has followed the proper process. In order for a solicitor to be allowed he/she must follow the following process:

1) Check in with the Ipswich Police Department and fill out a Solicitor application

2) The Police Department will conduct a thorough check of the individual.

3) Once the individual has been approved as a solicitor he/she will be issued a solicitor permit. (pictured below).

4) This permit must be worn on the outside clothing and be visible.

If someone comes to your door wearing this permit they have been authorized by the police department to solicit. If they are not wearing a permit please call the Ipswich Police Department and report them immediately at 978-356-4343.
