COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT UNIT

Goals:

The Ipswich Police Department is committed to enforcing commercial vehicle rules and regulations. Specialized patrols targeting truck enforcement plays a positive role in ensuring that our roadways are safe. Ipswich has three state highways, US Route 1, Route 1A, and Route 133 that experience moderate to heavy commercial vehicle traffic.
The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit has just purchased two portable scales to weigh commercial vehicles. Having these scales further enables the officers to ensure that commercial vehicles are operating within load limits, hence aiding in the ultimate goal of making the roadways of Ipswich safer.
